What we inspect before quoting the from-price
Vent type (atmospheric, power-vent, direct-vent), pitch and termination, gas-pipe size, shutoff location, and whether the closet can breathe. Photos of the flue and gas control save a wasted trip.
Safety
We do not light a unit with soot, a backdrafting vent, or a CO history until those defects are corrected. That work is extra and written.
What the from-$1,449 price assumes
Like-for-like 40-gallon gas tank, usable vent, adequate pipe, and a working shutoff. Power-vent conversions, new penetrations, and gas-line upsizing are a different quote. Compare that honestly against the $1,199 electric package if the home already has 240V.
After lighting
We check flame, draft, and leak-free joints, then show you the gas shutoff. If a CO alarm has ever sounded in that mechanical room, say so before we schedule.
