WARRANTY + INSURANCE

Water Heater Warranty and Insurance Guide

There are two warranties on a qualifying SAFE install: the manufacturer’s limited unit warranty (commonly 5 years on the tanks we promote, model booklet controls) and SAFE’s 2-year limited installation labor warranty for defects caused by our original workmanship. Homeowners insurance is a third conversation—leak damage to floors is not the tank warranty.

Manufacturer vs labor

The factory covers specified tank or parts failures per the written warranty, usually requiring professional installation and registration. SAFE labor covers our workmanship, not someone else’s later repairs, owner abuse, or drywall from a leak.

Insurance and leak damage

Photograph the tank, serial number, and rooms before demolition. Shut off water. Call your carrier. SAFE can replace the heater; we are not the public adjuster. See the leak-damage page for mitigation order.

Keep coverage valid

Register at /warranty/register with address, photos and install date. Unregistered units and homemade electrical splices are how claims die.
